Globe of Light - My new book

It’s been awhile since I blogged.  It is not that I haven’t been writing because here is the exciting news…Are you ready?   My new book will be coming out shortly, it is called Globe of Light.  I have written it as a ten-year update to Set Free From Darkness.  It is much more than an update, though, and describes the new depth of my walk with the Lord.  I feel God led me to write with a fresh perspective.  If you haven’t read Set Free From Darkness don’t be troubled, as I am including it in the same binding as Globe of Light.  It will be two books in one that can be read independent of each other or as a sequel.  I don’t think that was my idea, as I believe the Lord gave me the suggestion to publish it that way.  And it really seems to work. If you have forgotten some of the details from the last time you read it or this is your first time around, you will be up to date with both stories under one cover.
I had debated how to combine the two and considered rewriting the first one with added material. But it seemed fitting to leave the first book intact and simply bring you up to date with new insights in the second book.  It is kind of amazing to see for myself how ten more years of walking with Jesus has changed many aspects of my life, including the improvement of my writing. I have gone deeper with Holy Spirit into areas I never wanted to face.
One area after writing Set Free From Darkness was, “What would people think of me after they heard my tragic story?” And it comes down to this, “It matters very little.”  People’s opinions will always be changing, and there is nothing I or anyone can do about that.  So for me to worry about something I have no control over and that can change constantly – I mean that’s just a set up for failure.  I have to admit over the past ten years, I had my meltdowns over people’s opinions or silence, and I have come to this conclusion, “It has more to do with their relationship with God than it does with me.”  So He has bigger shoulders, let Him deal with the criticism. He and I know where we’ve been.  We know the pain firsthand and we know the victory.  If a critic doesn’t like it, they can wrestle with God about it.  I’ve come a long way in ten years.
That is one of the beautiful things about getting older that isn’t talked about enough. When I was younger I cared a lot about what people thought about me but now, I sort of say, “Whatever.” When I die my close friends will be there at the funeral or they will be waiting for me on the other side.  The people with their opinions or their silence, well, I pray for them because they are not my real enemy. I pray—“behind their backs”— that they, too, can be set free.
I’m getting older and wiser, I’m realizing what is important, knowing it’s not things, or power, or status or any other idol that is set by the “world’s standards.”  I know it all comes back to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  What He says, what He does, what He thinks and what He knows about me are the most important areas I should concern myself with.
This is from an old Christian hymn, “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus:”
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

I have found it to be true, most of the things I used to worry about have gone strangely dim as I learned to focus on Him.
Globe of Light is written for people who are into New Age, too, as I discuss the spiritual gifts and the supernatural. Concepts I never saw myself exploring again after my life as I knew it was destroyed in 1987.  But God had me (reluctantly) go back there and He has pulled out some wonderful treasures that were buried.  I had to learn to do spiritual warfare and face some things that were not flesh and blood. And He reminded me, “All things are possible” with Him, that is. I didn’t start out writing the new book with an agenda, it was written more in real time, as He showed me, sometimes daily what He wanted to accomplish with it and what audience He wanted to reach.
With that said I hope I have piqued your curiosity.   Please stay tuned for updates on when Globe of Light will come out, I’m thinking mid-June. It is in the final stages right now.
